Turn the mower off and make sure the engine is cool. Remove the ignition key. Disconnect the spark plug ignition wire and the red cable from the battery. Do not allow the wrench to come in contact with any metal.
Engage the parking break so the mower does not roll while you are working on it.
Put the deck height lever at it's highest postion.
Place a wood block under the deck's edge for support and then lower the deck to the wood block.
Remove the belt keeper from around the engine pulley by removing the self-tapping screw. Then, remove the belt from around the engine pulley
Remove the bow tie clip rom the let rear side of the mower deck and carefully remove the hanger rod. Repeat these steps on the right side of the mower.
Remove the bow tie clip on the deck stabilizer rod and slide the deck lift rod from the mounting bracket.
Remove the wood block from underneath the deck.
Remove the bow tie clip to release the PTO cable from the bracket and release the tension spring from the idler arm.
Slide the deck out from under the mower.
Turn the deck over to expose the blades.
Wearing gloves for protection, use the Arnold Blade Removal Tool to secure the blade.
Remove the bolt that secures the blade to the spindle and remove the blade.
Assemble the new blade on the engine spindle and tighten the bolts to the proper torque as indicated in your operator's manual. Then, remove the Arnold Blade Removal Tool
Slide the deck back under the mower.
Attach the tension spring to the idler arm and insert the PTO cable in the bracket. Insert the bow tie clip.
Slide the deck lift rod into the mounting bracket and insert the bow tie clip into the stabilizer rod.
Attach the hanger rod and insert the bow tie clip on the left and right sides of the mower.
Route the belt onto the engine pulley.
Attach the belt keeper around the engine pulley by inserting the self-tapping screws..
Attach the red cable to the battery and connect the spark plug ignition wire.
